Durham Canvass to Defeat Harmful Constitutional Amendments

A handful of state lawmakers want to scam our community with two constitutional amendments on the ballot this fall. These amendments will let big corporations and rich people skip paying what they owe while working people pick up the tab. Neither amendment will save everyday people any money. If these amendments pass, it could mean billions of dollars in cuts to our schools, health care, and other public services. Durham For All and Durham Public School Strong are partnering to mobilize thousands of people to vote against these harmful amendments and demand that corporations and billionaires pay what they owe in taxes so our kids, educators, and communities have what they need to succeed. Join us as we knock on our neighbors' doors or talk with people at community events to get the word out about these harmful amendments and make sure they are defeated at the polls! If you’ve never canvassed before, or if you just heard about these amendments yourself, that's okay! We will equip you with talking points and help you shape and share your story of why this matters to you. All canvassing will happen in pairs, so bring a buddy and/or come prepared to make a new friend. There will be Spanish interpretation and childcare at the launch site for all weekend canvassing shifts.
