Thruway Banner Project

Saturday, September 12, 2026 · 11:30 AM EDT
347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY 12110
📢political action
Our Latham Bridge Brigade will be taking part in a special New York Thruway Project to remind NYS residents that their voices matter. Over 44 Thruway overpasses will be displaying 15-foot banners with messages encouraging voter participation. We will be displaying the banners from our usual spot on the Route 7 overpass at Old Loudon Road, rather than the Thruway, to take advantage of traffic heading for the Northway. Come be part of a state-wide visibility event, voicing concerns about democracy, the economy, and corruption in government ahead of the mid-terms. Folks will be holding banners on bridges across the NYS Thruway from Buffalo to Albany on four Saturdays ahead of the elections. There are two banners to be used, so we need your help holding the banners in place. You can also bring your own signs or use one of ours. Bring noisemakers, bring a friend, bring family - all are welcome. Please sign up ASAP for one or more of the dates listed. This will be a fun and impactful protest, so we hope you can join us! As always, lots of free parking is available at St. Ambrose Church, just steps from the bridge. Also, please note that the bridge brigade will start a bit earlier than usual on the NYS Thruway Project Saturdays. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
