Block Walk this Fall with Dr. Darlene Breaux, Texas House District 149

Join Dr. Darlene Breaux's campaign for State Representative in House District 149 for a block walk. We'll be knocking doors across Alief and Katy, introducing Dr. Breaux to her neighbors, and hearing what people want from their next state representative. There is nothing in this race that matters more than these conversations. You don't need any experience. We'll train you on everything before you knock a single door, and you'll never walk alone, because new volunteers are always paired with someone who's done this before. If you've never canvassed, this is a good first one to try. Please arrive fifteen minutes early so we can get you your turf assignment, and we'll do a short briefing before heading out together. Bring a water bottle, wear comfortable walking shoes, and come with sunscreen and a hat. It's Houston and there is not much shade on most of these blocks. A charged phone helps, along with a battery pack if you have one. We'll have extra water and snacks, plus the walk lists, literature, and clipboards, and we'll show you the app you'll use to log conversations when you get there. Bring any friends, family, or neighbors who want to come, and know that minors are welcome and will always be paired with an adult volunteer. Here's our schedule, with all times in Central. We walk on Saturday, August 22 at 11:30 AM at the Alief Neighborhood Center picnic area, joined by Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones. From there we run 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM on September 12 at Franz Elementary in Katy, September 26 at O'Donnell Middle School in Alief, October 3 at Morton Ranch High School in Katy, October 10 at the Maud Smith Marks Branch Library in Katy, October 17 at Hackberry Park in Alief, October 24 at Memorial Parkway Elementary in Katy, and October 31 at Klentzman Intermediate School in Alief.
