Wine & Write: Letters & Comments on Local Issues

Wine & Write is our monthly gathering for neighbors who believe democracy shouldn't end when a public meeting does. Bring a friend and connect with neighbors, catch up on local issues, and write meaningful, handwritten letters or prepare your public comments to our local decision-makers. These meetups are intentionally placed the day before GJ City Council meetings so that if you would like to make a public comment at the meeting, you can use this time to prepare! For our first meet-up, we're focusing on two big issues in GJ: Election Protection, and Deflocking our community. We'll share updates and talking points on both of these issues, and if you have something else you'd like to write about, please do! Bring a laptop, tablet, or phone if it helps you research or organize your thoughts, but we'll put pen to paper and create something our elected officials have to physically receive, open, and read. Whether you're writing your first letter or comment, or you're a seasoned advocate, Wine & Write is a place to build confidence, strengthen your voice, and turn frustration into action. One letter won't change a city. But hundreds of letters, written by neighbors who keep showing up, just might.
