The month we are honoring our ancestors and their legacy that carries us forward. We will be holding space for our parents, children, siblings, neighbors, and students who have been torn from our communities through this administration’s mass delegalization agenda. We will honor the dozens of souls who lost their lives in the chaos that federal agents have created. We will remember all those who came before us, whose strength and courage made us who we are. **Join UWD and UWDA on Wednesday, October 21st as we celebrate our ancestors and loved ones, and create collective hope.** We know that our strength is generational, and that strength is what will allow us to build something better, together. Here what you can expect on the call: - 🌎 Make meaning of the tragedies our communities have endured - 🏵️ Understand Dia de los Muertos and why we keep this tradition - 🕯️ Build a community altar together - ☎️ Receive updates on the Dream & Promise Act Petition, and call on Members of Congress to secure the last signature - 📣 Leave with next steps you can take back to your community Bring photos of loved ones who have passed, pictures of pets, or those in detention. We’ll build this altar as one.
