SURJ NYC Chapter - Local Block by Block Training

In 2026, our movements have already delivered powerful blows to the Trump administration’s billionaire agenda, and we’re in the best position yet to stop their death march and weaken their power. Millions of white people are rising up– it’s our role to be ready to move them away from authoritarianism and into movements of resistance. To get ready for all of this, a small group of SURJ NYC leaders have been trained and are now bringing that training to our local community: the Block by Block Training and Action Series. This series will equip SURJ NYC members, allies and friends with the tools to organize our communities here in New York City, get into formation, and do our part in this national campaign. As ICE has its eyes set on the next invasion location and the 2026 midterm elections approach, can you join us to be ready to win? Block by Block is SURJ's national campaign for 2026 to 1) mobilize members into mass actions like marches and local ICE resistance, 2) elect working class champions and block MAGA candidates, and 3) grow our power by bringing more and more people into our movement. In this training, you’ll learn everything you need to implement this strategy. We’ll train on recruitment and building a local movement, strategic noncooperation, building electoral power, and more. We’ll provide all the structure, toolkits, and guidance you need to plug into our national program and make a real difference– block by block. The MAGA agenda wants to use this year to elect more of their people to rig elections, destroy what’s left of our social safety net, deport hundreds of thousands more of our neighbors, and ensure that Wall Street and Silicon Valley overlords have free rein to take advantage of us all. Solidarity is rising– and if we keep it up, we’ll not only stop their strategy, we’ll have a mass movement of people who are fighting for not a return to the status quo, but an entirely new vision for this country.
