Join this interactive five-part virtual training series to learn how to use your voice in the public processes that shape our communities. Drawing from San Diego's movement history and traditions of collective action, you'll build practical civic engagement skills to influence public decisions, strengthen communities, and advance human rights. In this series, you'll learn how to: - Participate in federal and California state rulemaking processes. - Deliver effective public comment at city and county meetings. - Understand public budgets and advocate for community priorities. - Practice civic engagement skills through real-world exercises. - Build confidence using your voice to advocate, organize, and create lasting change. Complete each module to earn a Certificate of Participation. Participants who complete all five modules will earn recognition as Human Rights Dignity Defender Specialists in recognition of their commitment to civic leadership, collective action, and advancing human rights. Training Schedule Each module is offered in both English and Spanish.
