Election Defense ACTION Training with Sunrise Twin Cities

Note: This training was moved from August 8th to the weekend of September 19th! Feeling powerless against the threat of authoritarianism? Worried about the upcoming elections being stolen by the Trump administration? Join us to learn how to take action and defend our democracy! At this training, attendees will build skills, get organized, and learn strategies to take effective action together. Bring a friend and have them sign up, too. This is an in-person event open to young people under 35. In the first half of the training, we will discuss practical strategy to defeat authoritarian regimes, and learn what we can do leading up to, during, and after the upcoming elections to prevent them from being corrupted. In the second half, we will break into small groups for hands-on trainings. You will be able to attend a session of your choice, with options including: 1. How to plan effective, nonviolent actions 2. How to canvass to bring people to your side 3. Communications training to tell our story, share our wins, and move people to action Come ready to learn, connect, and build power together. Together, we can defend our elections, elect candidates who will fight for livable futures for all, and win the fight against authoritarianism.
