About this event
**We can’t drink data.** The rapid expansion of data centers across the United States, driven by Big Tech’s AI and crypto boom, presents one of the biggest environmental and social challenges of our generation. Even before the AI boom, fossil fuels were warming our climate to unsustainable levels, threatening our food, water, and public health. The AI-driven data center frenzy is like dousing a fire with gasoline, exponentially increasing energy demand, worsening fossil fuel pollution, straining our water resources, and raising electricity prices across the country. **Food & Water Watch is protecting our communities from data centers at the local, state, and national levels. If you’re fighting a data center in your community or want to know where to start, this session is for you.** This data center buildout is not inevitable. Join us to hear how we’re strategically organizing for data center moratoriums locally and federally and what you can do to prevent data centers from destroying our climate, health, and communities.
