WARRANT FOR A JOINT CONVENTION 
OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE 
July 10, 2026 
The City Council and the School Committee will meet in Joint Convention 
Monday, September 14, 2026 at 5:15PM 
Legislative Building 
700 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 
The following matters are on the agenda for the continuation of the Joint Convention held on Monday, September 14, 
To appoint one (1) member to the Fitchburg School Committee to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of a 
member whose term expires in January 2030. Pursuant to the Fitchburg City Charter, the appointee shall serve until 
the next regular municipal election, at which time the vacancy shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term 
ending January 2030. 
The following will be the order of business: 
3. Roll Call attendance
4. Read Warrant for Joint Convention
5. Vote to accept Rules of the Convention
6. City Clerk reads names of candidates for the Fitchburg School Committee seat
7. Assistant City Clerk conducts lottery for order of presentations by candidates
8. Presentations by candidates (3 minutes each)
9. Assistant City Clerk tallies Ballot for the seat
10. Assistant City Clerk announces member elected
