About this event
Join the Cabarrus County Senior Democrats in person in Concord for our monthly meeting every third Thursday (except July) from 6 to 7:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm and Zoom begins at 6. Zoom link and agenda is provided to registered guests upon sign up; shortly after you submit the sign up form, you will receive a Mobilize confirmation email. Please keep this. We have amazing speakers and our six upcoming guests for our October meeting are our County Commissioner candidates; newcomer with quite a following from both sides, Daniel Redding; former Senior Democrat of the Year, our own Ingrid Nurse; and Indivisible leader and CCSD member, Phil Henry, whose terrific slogan is: Old Guy-New Voice! Also joining us are our awesome School Board candidates including incumbent Pam Escobar; Mishell Williams running for the second time after a close race which faced interference by Cabarrus GOP’s nepotism and shenanigans! Courtney Steinberg, member of CCDP and former treasurer of the party is also vying for one of the three open seats on the board. Last month we hosted Congressional District 8 Candidate, Colby Watson. Also, the House District 82 candidate, Chris Bishopp, and April Cook for Senate 34 joined us, plus our resident elections guru, Martin Ericson, explained what we need to know for this November 3 and why voting early is your best bet.
If you missed this meeting, links to the videos of their talks will be in our special election Oct/Nov issue of our newsletter. Voting CCSD members must be registered Democrats age 50 and up, but we welcome all like- minded neighbors to listen, learn and connect. Our focus for the 2026 midterms is to build our ranks through outreach and sharing our institutional memory with others including people new to our area and younger activists because Experience plus Energy Equals Power! Never forget, we were the ones who marched for civil rights, integrated public schools, built Medicare, protested a war, formed unions, fought for women’s rights
